League of Women Voters To Host Registration Events In Amarillo, Canyon This Saturday

The League of Women Voters will be hosting registration events in the Texas Panhandle Saturday reports The Amarillo Globe-News.

The events will be held at the United Supermarkets in Amarillo and Canyon, as well as the Amigos Supermarket in Amarillo, between 10 a.m. and two p.m.

The Lone Star State is holding the earliest political primary in the nation this year. That means Texans will need to be registered by Feb. 5 in order to participate in the March 6 primary.

On that March ballot, voters will find Senate and Gubernatorial races, as well as races for Lt. Gov., State Legislature, and Randall County commissioner, as well as several county judicial positions.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization whose mission is to encourage active participation in government. LWV chairwoman Carolyn Barnett urged voters to take advantage of the registration opportunity this weekend.
