Alleged child pornography has been uncovered in the investigation into the thwarted terror plot planned last month targeting Garden City’s Somali community.
According to documents filed in a Kansas City federal court, the Kansas City Star reports that pornographic images were found on one a computer seized from a home belonging to one of the three men charged with the plot to bomb a Garden City apartment complex and mosque.
The court documents allege that an examiner reviewing the information contained in computer equipment seized from Patrick Eugene Stein’s home in Wright found two images depicting pre-teen girls in sexually graphic images on a USB drive. Federal authorities, through a search warrant, subsequently found 250 images and two videos of child pornography, the Star reports.
No additional charges had been filed as of Tuesday.
Stein, Curtis Wayne Allen and Gavin Wayne Wright, both of Liberal, were charged with domestic terrorism in October, following a months-long FBI investigation into the men’s activities.
