USDA Releases COVID-19 Resource Guide For Rural Communities

Rural communities can access a newly-developed tool for addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.

The US Department of Agriculture unveiled the COVID-19 Federal Rural Resource Guide is meant to help rural leaders who are seeking federal funding and partnership opportunities to help address the pandemic.

The resource guide is for:

  • For-profit businesses: Corporations, limited liability companies, sole proprietorships, etc.; agricultural producers and ranchers.
  • Agricultural producers and ranchers
  • Government entities: local, county and state governments.
  • Nonprofits: economic development corps., universities, schools, libraries, faith-based organizations, etc.
  • Individuals/households
  • Hospitals
  • Federally-recognized tribes or tribal organizations

US Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue unveiled the guide Tuesday as a one-stop-shop of federal programs that can be used by the aforementioned organizations and individuals.
“This resource guide will help our rural leaders, whether they are in agriculture, education, health care or any other leadership capacity, understand what federal assistance is available for their communities during this unprecedented time,” Perdue said.
