A north central Kansas filmmaker’s drone video of wheat harvest is premiering at a New York City film festival next month.
As The Wichita Eagle reports, Doug Armknecht’s video called 'Beauty & Bounty' documents his wife’s family’s 2016 wheat harvest in Osborne County and is premiering at the New York City Drone Film Festival, which takes place March 17 to 19.
Armknecht, who grew up in Cawker City, has been capturing farm life on video that have been posted on YouTube since 2012. He told the Wichita Eagle that in that time, he’s had over 1.5 million views.

Armknecht said drone footage is a major component of his work and that he uses drones for a local realtor and to create promotional videos showing historical and scenic elements of Smith County.
He said he produces the farm videos to promote Kansas farms and he thinks the film is the first agricultural film in the festival’s history
