Texas Panhandle Residents Welcome Opening of Farmer’s Markets in Canyon and Amarillo

Two more farmer’s markets recently got underway in the Texas Panhandle, according to The Amarillo Globe-News. All kinds of treats and vegetables will be available this summer in Amarillo and Canyon—from locally produced clothing and art to locally grown produce.

The Canyon Farmer’s Market will be held on the courthouse square on Saturday mornings for the rest of the summer. Be sure and get there early; some vegetable vendors sell out 15 minutes after the 8 a.m. opening.

Meanwhile, the Golden Spread Market will be held on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday morning in downtown Amarillo, on the corner of Southwest 15th Avenue and Pecos Street.

If you’re looking for an intimate small-town vibe, Canyon’s market might be your speed. The Golden Spread Market in Amarillo provides produce on a larger scale, and has grown very popular in the last couple of years.
