Mystery Author Bill Durham Speaks of Amarillo

Native Texan Bill Durham wanted to be three things when he grew up: a writer, an actor, and a cowboy. He has achieved all three goals. His novel achieves the first. As an actor, his specialty is the classics, but as noted, “he also has an affinity for playing folks who are either crazy or evil and sometimes both at once.”

According to a bio on Amazon, although Bill came from a line of cowboys – and rednecks – he has never actually been a cowboy.  One wouldn’t know that since the characters in Amarillo ring true.

Bill graduated with a B.A. in Theatre Arts and English from Texas Tech University and an M.A. in Creative Writing from New York University. Having grown up in Muleshoe, Texas, however, he self-proclaims the right to status as a Texan in dialect, point-of-view and style.

Today, Bill lives in LA with his wife, who is an accomplished classical singer; a teen-aged stepdaughter, four cats, and a dog.
