Thanks so much to Malcolm Byers & Katt Massey of the HOODOO Mural Festival for stopping by High Plains Morning today. We had a great chat, and it was wonderful to learn more about this initiative. The HOODOO Mural Festival is a non-profit annual mural project debuting this September throughout Amarillo to increase awareness of the flourishing arts community in the Texas Panhandle, and to celebrate creativity through public art. Wall painting will commence in early September, and it’ll culminate in a festival party on September 21st at 4:00 p.m. CT at 411 S. Filmore. The festival will include artists and craft vendors, DJs, drinks, food trucks, open canvas painting for public, and a live mural painting by Emily Ding. They will also be having and after party at Crush Wine Bar (627 S. Polk, Amarillo) with live music and drink specials.
