Today, we spoke with Rachel Flores, the Executive Director of Amarillo Art Institute, about the latest iteration of their annual Holiday Market and Potters Show. Despite the many delays and adjustments to the schedule, these two events are UP AND RUNNING, with safety procedures in place to protect the shoppers, the vendors, and the volunteers. These events help raise funds for AAI's educational programming for low-income and at-risk populations, as well as support regional artists, local businesses, and creativity across the Texas Panhandle.

The AAI Holiday Market includes the Holiday Shop, with proceeds going to AAI, artwork by our students and instructors available for purchase, and a few local artisan vendors. It runs through December 19 on Thursdays through Saturdays, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. CT -- and by appointment the rest of the week. For apptointments, call AAI at 806-354-8802. Items from the shop are also available on Facebook.

Tentatively, they are still having the Potters Show on Saturday, December 12 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. CT. It is in AAI’s huge atrium, so shoppers and vendors can space out pretty well. Please note that masks are required. They will be firing the raku kiln outdoors that day for people wanting to see it.
