In touch with the world ... at home on the High Plains

Flatland Cavalry Headlines Lubbock Lights Streaming Concert—FRIDAY NIGHT

This Friday night, we’ll all get to tip our communal cowboy hat to the South Plains as Texas Tech University hosts the 6th annual Lubbock Lights concert, an evening celebrating the musical heritage of the region. And this year, they’re welcoming home some hometown heroes to take the virtual stage: Flatland Cavalry. If you’re not familiar with this powerhouse of talented musicians and excellent dudes, you’re in for a well-worn boot in your dusty caboose. Their sound spans country, Americana, roots, and sometimes folksinger vibes, with a strong focus on downhome storytelling, human connection, and keepin’ it humble. (In other words, it’s RIGHT UP OUR ALLEY, High Plains!) I had a great time chatting with Cleto Cordero (vocals, guitar, songwriter) and Jason Albers (percussion) on High Plains Morning today, and they hope you’ll tune in for their online show tomorrow night. It streams at 8 pm CT on this website. Hear the full interview on the link below, and check out their music here. They have a new album coming this Summer, and rest assured HPPR will have it on the air as soon as we get it.
