In touch with the world ... at home on the High Plains

Gabrielle Louise, Live on High Plains Morning!

High Plains Morning was recently haunted by the living ghost of Gabrielle Louise, who was traveling through Amarillo while touring for her recent full-length album release, If the Static Clears.

With funds generated directly from her fan base, Gabrielle put this record together with passion and care. It just came out Friday, so we're thrilled she was able to stop in and talk about her songs, storytelling, balancing our inhalation of tropes vs. the exhalation of individual purpose, and two star-crossed lovers from the heart of Mexico.

Learn more about Gabrielle Louise on her website -- and hear her fascinating TED talkabout striking a balance between self-definition and actualization.

"Gabrielle Louise is eclectic, eccentric, seductive, flexible, literate and a plethora of other descriptive adjectives that pertain to music and creativity and yet there is no pinning down this woman, no way to sum her up in one word...a homogenous mix of folk, bluegrass, and jazz...Her voice is going to make time stand still in that it is full, rich and has great nuance in it...A beautifully crafted disc in every possible way." —NO DEPRESSION/Bob Gottlieb

Here's the audio on our entire conversation + her in-studio set, and a video of her performance.
