KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR mix service or HPPR connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

Elk Camp: Bear!

Luke Clayton

Folks, I'm calling in from elk camp again this week.  The numbers of black bear again this year are just tremendous!  We've had some close encounters, and that's enough to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.

Cindee seemed to get kind of worried when I was telling her about the "up close and personals" we've been having, especially when I told her it is not legal to carry a firearm during archery season.

I have a buddy who put a blunt on his arrow the other day when a bear got a little close, it stunned the bear for a few seconds, he spun in circles, and then went crashing down the mountain breaking off four-inch aspens on his way down.

I've sent a couple pictures for you to enjoy.

I'm keeping an eye out, and having the time of my life!

Until next week, enjoy the great outdoors!
