KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at 15% of power, limiting its signal strength and range in the Amarillo-Canyon area. This due to complicated problems with its very old transmitter. Local engineers are continuing to work on the transmitter and are consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR Mix service or HPPR Connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

What Are the Most and Least Energy-Efficient States on the High Plains?

Wallethub

On average, Americans spendnearly $2,000 per year on energy bills. But that burden could be lighter.

Experts estimate that the U.S. could save more than $1.2 trillion if more energy-efficient measures were put in place.

This fact prompted personal finance website Wallethub to studywhich states are the most and least energy efficient. New York was found to be the most energy efficient, while South Carolina was found to be the least.

Among High Plains states, Colorado performed the best, landing at number eight on the list. Kansas and Nebraska come next, though they’re in the bottom half of states, falling at numbers 30 and 31, respectively. Texas was at number 38, despite its massive wind-energy system. And Oklahoma came last among HPPR states, landing at number 42.
