KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at 15% of power, limiting its signal strength and range in the Amarillo-Canyon area. This due to complicated problems with its very old transmitter. Local engineers are continuing to work on the transmitter and are consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR Mix service or HPPR Connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

Some Colorado Republicans Reconsider Their Loyalties

pbs.org

During most national election cycles, Colorado has long been known as a key battleground state. But this year Hillary Clinton is outpolling Donald Trump by a wide margin.

PBS recently reportedfrom the reddest parts of the state. They were attempting to uncover why some Coloradans were switching their votes this season.

El Paso County is experiencing divided loyalties. Eli Bremer, the former chair of the El Paso County Republican Party will vote for Trump. He said he’s always found Trump to be an interesting candidate. He added, “Interesting can be good. Interesting can be bad.” Karen McCormick was a precinct leader for Mitt Romney in 2012. She disagrees, saying for her “[Trump] doesn’t represent the party of Lincoln.” She added, “I don’t want to lower my standards to dirt level to support him just to beat Hillary Clinton. So I will be supporting her.”
