KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at 15% of power, limiting its signal strength and range in the Amarillo-Canyon area. This due to complicated problems with its very old transmitter. Local engineers are continuing to work on the transmitter and are consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR Mix service or HPPR Connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

Oklahoma Public Schools' Grades Are Slipping

KFOR.com

The Oklahoma State Board of Education has released its 2016 Report Cards for all public schools in Oklahoma. As KFOR reports, things appear to be sliding downhill.

This year, more schools in Oklahoma received a grade of F than were given an A grade. All told, 213 schools were given an F. That’s 17 more schools than were given an A. Compare that with last year, when more schools received As than Fs.

The highest number of schools received a grade of C, and that was true last year as well. Almost 600 schools total fell under the C column this year.

The number of schools receiving an A grade has fallen precipitously in the past two years. In 2013, 354 schools in Oklahoma received an A. This year, that number has fallen by 142 schools, down to 212.
