KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR mix service or HPPR connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

Texas Tribune To Host Conversation On Rural Health At West Texas A&M

The Texas Tribune

Next Tuesday at West Texas A&M University, the Texas Tribune will be presenting a public event entitled "Underserved: A Conversation on Rural Health Care."

For decades, the populations of rural Texas have been stagnant or declining. Scores of rural hospitals have closed in recent years, and rural residents of the Texas Panhandle have seen their access to proper medical care become increasingly limited.

This event will feature medical professionals, local officials and other stakeholders interested in reviving rural access to medical care.

The event will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 5 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Legacy Hall at West Texas A&M University in Canyon.

For more information on events, HPPR listeners can go to texastribune.org/events.
