KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR mix service or HPPR connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

Amarillo: Medical Center Park Stocked with Trout Friday

amarillo.com

Medical Center Park in Amarillo will be stocked with trout on Friday as part of the Neighborhood Fishin’ program according to the Amarillo Globe News.

The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department has planned to stock the park 20 times this year: eight times with trout, and 12 times with channel catfish.  Trout are stock during winter months and catfish during summer.

“The main reason we do this is to provide fishing opportunities for urban Texans. ... The program is designed to stock catchable-size fish,” said John Clayton, a fisheries biologist with Texas Parks & Wildlife Department.

Details about the program and the rest of the story Jim McBride can be found here.
