KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR mix service or HPPR connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

Growing On The High Plains: Up From The Roots

Just like Skip's garden, High Plains Public Radio started with tender loving care from its founders, listener-members and volunteers who helped broadcast the seeds that continue to produce a year-round harvest of news, information and entertainment.

This ongoing support helped the HPPR garden grow from a tiny sprout in Pierceville, Kansas, to encompass parts of five states - Kansas, Texas. Oklahoma, Colorado and Texas.

Because of member support, HPPR has weathered financial dry spells and the high winds of technological change.

Whether you’re an old hand, or a newcomer in our garden of audio delights, we hope you’ll roll up your sleeves and do your part to jeep the High Plains Public Radio garden growing strong.

Her San Francisco friends, concerned over her decision to live in a desolate flatland best known for a Hollywood tornado, were afraid she would wither and die on the vine.
