KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR mix service or HPPR connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

HPPR's Steve Johnson Leads Discussion on Hardy Boys And Nancy Drew

High Plains Public Radio

Were you a Nancy Drew or Hardy Boys fan? Listen each Wednesday, from Feb. 13 through March 6 to hear HPPR’s Stephen Johnson explore these iconic mysteries with which many of us grew up.

Radio Readers BookBytes are heard at 7:45 a.m. during Morning Edition and again at 6:44 p.m. during All Things Considered.

As the host of Open Range, Steve Johnson brings a lifetime of hearing and performing a wide variety of music to this unique program. Growing up in a home featuring everything from opera to Bill Evans and the Beatles, he studied piano in college where he became passionate about free-form radio—the space where you can hear everything from punk rock to classic country or jazz in the course of a few hours.

Open Range is your invitation to an hour of radio unleashed, presented with heart and humor. All you need for this adventure is an open mind and open ears. Steve’s also an avid reader and delves into books with the same passion he applies to music.
