KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR mix service or HPPR connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

The State of Texas has given up the fight—for now—on trying to prevent undocumented immigrants from obtaining birth certificates for their children born legally in the States.

As The Texas Observer reports,Texas will now make it easier for immigrants to obtain the official record of their child’s birth. The move comes after some immigrant families took the state to Federal court over access to their kids’ records. The state will now accept Mexican voter identification cards and various other forms of ID whenever undocumented parents try obtain a birth certificate.

In the past, the state has fought to keep from releasing these documents, even though the immigrants were entitled to them. As a result, immigrants feared having their families torn apart or their American-born children deported.
