KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at 15% of power, limiting its signal strength and range in the Amarillo-Canyon area. This due to complicated problems with its very old transmitter. Local engineers are continuing to work on the transmitter and are consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR Mix service or HPPR Connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

Martin Scorcese puts together amazing cast for planned bio-pic of Frank Sinatra

LEILA FADEL, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Leila Fadel. Martin Scorsese put together a super cast for a planned biopic of the American crooner Frank Sinatra. According to Variety, Leonardo DiCaprio is taking on the role of the singer, and Jennifer Lawrence is set to play Ava Gardner, Old Blue Eyes' second wife. All Scorsese is waiting on to make the film happen is a blessing from Frank Sinatra's daughter Tina, who controls her late father's estate. Ring-a-ding-ding.

(SOUNDBITE OF SONG, "THE BEST IS YET TO COME")

FRANK SINATRA: (Singing) The best is yet to come.

FADEL: It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
