KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at 15% of power, limiting its signal strength and range in the Amarillo-Canyon area. This due to complicated problems with its very old transmitter. Local engineers are continuing to work on the transmitter and are consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR Mix service or HPPR Connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

As Tyson Foods to Cut 400 Jobs

IBP

As cattle supplies dwindle, Tyson Foods is permanently closing its plant in Denison, Iowa. The plant closing will result in a loss of 400 jobs to the area, says Omaha’s KETV. Tyson said it’s reducing its beef production due to a continued lack of available cattle. The company said while it plans to close the plant, it will keep the rendering operation open. Workers impacted by the cuts are being offered work at other Tyson plants. The beef plant opened in 1961. It was the first plant operated by Iowa Beef Packers. IBP was purchased by Tyson Foods in 2001. Tyson is a multinational corporation based in Springdale, Arkansas.
