KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at 15% of power, limiting its signal strength and range in the Amarillo-Canyon area. This due to complicated problems with its very old transmitter. Local engineers are continuing to work on the transmitter and are consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR Mix service or HPPR Connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

New Texas poll: Abbott remains marginally popular, while Patrick and Straus struggle

According to a recent poll, Gov. Greg Abbott remains the most popular politician in Texas.

The latest University of Texas/Texas Tribune Pollshows Abbott with a 45 percent approval rating, while 38 percent of the electorate disapproves of the job he’s been doing. However, Abbott’s disapproval rating has risen five points from 33 percent since the last poll, which was taken in February.

Abbott performed decidedly better than his two most powerful Texas colleagues, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and House Speaker Joe Straus, both of whom’s numbers are underwater.

Thirty-four percent of voters approve of Patrick’s performance, while 36 percent disapprove. And only one in four Texas voters approve of the way Joe Straus has handled the House of Representatives, while 29 percent disapprove of him.
