KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR mix service or HPPR connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

A Majority of Americans Support Fully-Funded Federal Health Care System

Most Americans want the government to pay for health care, a new poll shows. According to KRMG Tulsa,58 percent favor replacing the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, with a federally funded health care program.

Obamacare lets Americans buy insurance through the federal government using an online Marketplace. But the survey shows that most US citizens would rather the government just pay for everything.

Public opinion has been up and down on the issue in recent years. During the George W. Bush administration Americans largely said the government had an obligation to provide health care. Back in 2007, almost 70% of citizens wanted the federal government to be in charge of health care. That number dropped to 50% after Obama was elected.  But now support for a single payer system is rising again. More than 1,500 people from across the country were surveyed.
