KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at 15% of power, limiting its signal strength and range in the Amarillo-Canyon area. This due to complicated problems with its very old transmitter. Local engineers are continuing to work on the transmitter and are consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR Mix service or HPPR Connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

Kansas GOP Candidates Struggle With a Brownback Problem

Kansas City Star

A new poll by a GOP polling firm has found a big problem for Kansas Senate candidates this fall, and his name is Sam Brownback.

As The Kansas City Star reports, the Republican governor has become something of an albatross around the necks of members of his party who face re-election in the Sunflower State. Among the poll’s findings: 70 percent of Kansans view Brownback unfavorably, and almost one in four believe the Kansas government is on the wrong path. And four out of five Kansans said the Kansas budget was in poor or very poor shape.

Of highest priority to residents of the state, according to the poll, is the future of Kansas’s K-12 schools. Job creation and state government spending were also listed as priorities. Overall, the Star noted, the poll shows that running against Brownback and his tax cuts could be a winning strategy in November.
