In conjunction with Visit Amarillo's event: "Lights, Boots and Route 66-The US Capital Tree Visit", City of Amarillo Parks and Recreation is giving away 500-5 gallon trees, generously donated by Phillips 66 and Trees for Texas. Texas A&M Forestry has also partnered with P&R and is donating over 200 tree seedlings for the event also.
The event will take place at Arts in the Sunset on November 9th from 4:00pm-6:00pm. There will be a variety of trees; such as: Arborvitae, Arizona Cypress, Desert Willow, Shumard Oak and Vitex. First Come-First Serve until supplies last.
