Clutter Murderer Files Online

Home should be safe.  It doesn't matter if you live in the country or the city, in an apartment or on a farm, the place where you lay your head should be safe.  No so for Herb and Bonnie Clutter, and their two children.  The Clutter family was murdered in 1959 by Richard Eugene Hickock and Perry Edward Smith a few days before Christmas in their farmhouse, outside a little farming town in Kansas called Holcomb.

Is it the sacred safety violation that continues to breathe life into this story over 50 years later?  Maybe it is the book, "In Cold Blood," written by Truman Capote stoking the fire of interest.  Whatever the case, the inmate files for Hickock and Smith were recently places online by the Kansas State Historical Society.  According to an article in The Wichita Eagle, Digital Projects Director, Michael Church, says the files have been viewed hundreds of times.
