KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at 15% of power, limiting its signal strength and range in the Amarillo-Canyon area. This due to complicated problems with its very old transmitter. Local engineers are continuing to work on the transmitter and are consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR Mix service or HPPR Connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

Looking Back with Gratitude: 40 Years of HPPR

A native son of Garden City, Kansas had a dream that he shared with friends. And - true to the spirit of Pioneers, it was not long before hundreds joined him in bringing Community Radio to western Kansas. The year was 1975.

Join High Plains Public Radio for Looking Back with Gratitude, a series of eleven tiny stories about pursuing a dream. The list of Pioneers, those who gave money or time during the three years of building KANZ, numbered 510. Beginning Wednesday, June 10 and continuing weekdays until June 25, 2020 on our Facebook and here on our website.
