KZNA-FM 90.5 serving northwest Kansas is operating at just 10% power using a back up transmitter while work continues to install a new transmitter. It is hoped that this work will completed within the next few days with KZNA back to its full 100,000 watts of power with a state of the art transmitter to serve the area for many years to come.

Where Do HPPR States Rank When It Comes To Energy Efficiency?

The average American family spends $2,000 per year on energy. But some states are far more energy efficient than others. The personal finance website Wallethub set out to discover which states are doing more with less energy.

Among High Plains states, only Colorado put in a good showing in the rankings. The Centennial State landed at number nine among all states when it comes to energy efficiency. None of the other states in the HPPR listening region made the top half of the list. Kansas landed at number 29, while Nebraska was number 32, and Texas and Oklahoma fell at numbers 37 and 38, respectively.

New York and Vermont were found to be the most energy efficient states in the U.S., while Louisiana and South Carolina are the least frugal with energy.
