Total number of qualified signatures submitted  228,832

  • Total number of entries rejected (invalid) from random sample 2,258

  • Number of projected valid signatures from the random sample 183,673

This will be the first time since 1932 that Coloradans will vote on a bill passed by the legislature and signed into law. That’s when voters repealed a tax on Oleo margarine during the Great Depression.

Colorado GOP Chairman Ken Buck said in a statement that Colorado’s choice for president should not be controlled by populations centers in New York and California.

"Today grassroots Coloradans sent a clear message to overreaching Democrats at the state capitol," said Buck.

Meanwhile, the group Yes on National Popular vote released a statement saying, “we're asking Colorado to vote YES on a popular vote for president, and ratify the excellent decision made by the Governor and the Legislature.”
