Downtown Women's Center Hosts Vax Clinic in Amarillo on Thursday

Downtown Women's Center hosts Covid-19 Vaccine Clinic in Amarillo this Thursday at Thrift City, sponsored by the City of Amarillo Public Health Department

While vaccination numbers in rural areas have been lagging, some regional nonprofits are doing what they can to make an impact. Today, we had Stephanie Goins of Downtown Women's Centerin the studio during High Plains Morning to discuss the pop-up vaccine clinic happening tomorrow — Thursday, July 8th — in Amarillo. It's taking place at Thrift City (812 SW 10th Ave., on the corner of Adams/Washington). from 10a-5p CT; it's happening again on Thursday, August 5th for participants to receive their second dose. There's no appointment necessary, so everyone is welcome to stop by to get their shot. They will have Pfizer available for people aged 12 to 17; the Moderna shot will be administered to those 18 and up. After receiving your first dose, you'll get a coupon for 10% off everything in the store; after your second dose in August, you'll be entered to win a gift basket. This clinic has been sponsored by the City of Amarilllo's Public Heath Department. To contact Stephanie, send her an email at stephanie@dwcenter.org.
