KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. It's not vain to want to surround yourself with the sacred, white narcissus blooms, trumpeting up from a pool of water.

Today's Growing on the High Plains reflects on another bulb you might want to take. Forcing narcissus bulbs, also known as "paperwhites," can keep a cheery a promise of spring during the chilly winter months. It's easy to do indoors, and you might even have some luck rescuing some bulbs from the bargain bin at local garden centers.
