Gove County, Kan. Reports First COVID-19 Case, Issues Stay-At-Home Order

Gove County health officials announced Thursday a COVID-19 case, prompting the Gove County to put into place a stay-at-home order.
 
According to a press release from the Gove County Health Department, the first case in the county involves a young, healthy female who recently traveled out of state. 

Gove County Health is investigating anyone who may have been in close contact with the woman, and those who were exposed will be contacted as soon as possible. We will be monitoring these contacts for fever and respiratory symptoms.

 
The stay-at-home order took effect today and is in effect for the next 30 days.
 
Gove Counthy health officials is still recommending the following: 

  • People avoid non-essential trips and stay home to the extent they can.
  • Wash hands frequently with soap and running water for at least 20 seconds.
  • If you do need to go out in public, ensure you maintain six feet from other people.
