KZNA-FM 90.5 serving northwest Kansas is operating at just 10% power using a back up transmitter while work continues to install a new transmitter. It is hoped that this work will completed on Thursday with KZNA back to its full 100,000 watts of power with a state of the art transmitter to serve the area for many years to come.
If you can't receive KZNA at its reduced power, you can listen via the digital stream directly above or on the HPPR mobile app. For questions please contact station staff at (800) 678-7444 or by emailing hppr@hppr.org

Seg. 1: Plaza Architecture. Seg. 2: Rethinking Hospitality

Segment 1: The plaza's historic look may see big changes in the future.

New tenants on the Plaza could change the look of the historic Seville-inspired shopping district. As people wrestle with impending change, balancing nostalgia and aesthetics against commercial hope, we step back and talk about what the Plaza aesthetic is, and whether it's something we as Kansas Citians are attached to.

  • Kenneth T. Jackson, history professor, Columbia University
  • Hesse McGraw, principal, El Dorado Inc.
  • Nicolas Bock, architect, Gould Evans Associates
  • Beau Bledsoe, musician

Segment 2, beginning at 37:56: The relationship between safety and hospitality in the restaurant industry.

A Kansas City restauranteur has been asking herself what kind of vibe she wants to create in her bar. The answer includes safety and respect for patrons and staff alike-- which may mean that, sometimes, the customer isn't always right.
