  • Jennifer Ugalde joined HPPR’s Amarillo Studio in September 2019 as a senior intern through Amarillo Independent School District’s PRO Internship program. She has been enjoying the opportunity to contribute to public media and local broadcasting, especially as a host for HPPR’s Living Room Concert Series. “It was exciting to see how live music concerts actually function,” she said. “I had a blast learning all the different ways HPPR promotes the arts.” In the studio, Jennifer writes and records audio promos. She also designs social media marketing campaigns; volunteers at HPPR events; and helps organize the influx of music submissions received by Jenny Inzerillo, Music Director. “I once got one that was a naked CD stuffed into a sandwich bag, with a very weird note,” she said. “I’m not sure if Jenny played it on her show. Ha!” When she’s not at HPPR, you can find her volunteering at Tascosa High School’s leadership program, crying during reruns of Grey’s Anatomy, or working at her job where she loves meeting new people and helping others.
