Quinton is joining the team at StateImpact Oklahoma, focusing on criminal justice reporting. He is an OSU grad with degrees in Economics and Marketing who got his start in radio at KOSU. After graduation, Quinton served as Morning Edition Host/General Assignment Reporter at KBBI Radio in Homer, Alaska and Education Reporter at KTOO Public Media in Juneau, Alaska. Quinton loves writing, reading and has an intense relationship with his Netflix account.

Deborah has a long history as a part-time announcer/host with KIOS, having first worked at the station from 1983 to 1994 – hosting and producing two weekly interview/public affairs programs for part of that time. She returned as the Morning Edition Host from 2002-2003 and has now been back since 2009 as a part-time host on Tuesday and Friday evening and Saturday afternoons. In addition to some free-lance reporting, Deborah’s broadcasting background also includes teaching television broadcasting at the OPS Career Center, a segment about the 2003 College World Series on NPR’s Morning Edition and four short-term summer internships at Ken Burns’ Florentine Film Company in Walpole, New Hampshire.

Born and raised in San Antonio, Joey joined the Texas Public Radio newsroom in October of 2011. Joey graduated from Roosevelt High School and obtained an associate of applied science degree in radio and television broadcasting from San Antonio College in 2010.

I joined KUNC in 2016 to oversee news operations just as the station changed its format to round-the-clock news and information. I got my start as a journalist at the turn of the century, working as a newspaper. I took the advice of my mentors and didn't get too comfortable at any one place, working in several newsrooms along Colorado's Front Range, learning a little more about the state each place I went. I spread my wings as a freelancer after that. I worked for many publications, including Salon, 5280 magazine in Denver and my own, now-defunct bloggy news site that, among other things, ran cartoons rejected by the New Yorker. I also got my first taste of broadcast journalism, working for "48 Hours Mystery," "60 Minutes" and, eventually, a day job as a producer at the investigative desk at 7News in Denver. My first story in public radio was a collaboration with KUNC in a subject I've long explored -- the treatment of injured troops returning home from war. It won a national Edward R. Murrow award, one of the many awards over my career I've been lucky enough to win. In 2017, I won a Columbia-duPont award for my investigation into the same subject with NPR Investigative Correspondent Danny Zwerdling.

Kay Kennedy comes to HPPR with a wealth of knowledge about nonprofit fundraising, community engagement, and advocating for the arts in the Texas Panhandle. She has served in the leadership role for nine arts entities, served three terms on the Texas Arts Commission Peer Review Panel including one as chairman, and held the Certified Fund Raising Executive designation (CFRE) for nine years.
