Save OUR Museum Rally

This rally will be to make the panhandle of Texas aware that we are trying to keep our museum IN Canyon, Texas at its present location instead of being moved to another building or town. The Panhandle Plains Historical Museum is the largest history museum in the state of Texas. It has over 2 million artifacts and is the home of one of the Southwest's finest art collection. The 1932 contract was violated, to “keep the building maintained and up to standard safety codes.” It has been closed to the public since March 2024. Jan. 17 rally is a “call to action” to hold those accountable for years of neglect. WTAMU President, Texas A&M system & PPHistorical Society. WT Pres. is/was wanting to turn this building into a welcoming center for the university, saying there are no funds to get it up to safety code as a museum, yet they would be able to fix it to become a welcome center? We are rallying to keep it right where it is. This building was BUILT for preserving the history of pioneer life in the West Texas region.
