Symphony in Space (Hays Symphony's Annual Halloween Children's Concert)
Put on your Halloween costumes and come join the Hays Symphony in Space! This year, the symphony's annual FREE children's Halloween concert features "The Golden Record", an original musical drama by Catherine Trieschmann inwhich Aliens travel to our solor system in search of beautiful music. Children of all ages are sure to enjoy this charming story illustrated with musical selections from Holst's "The Planets". The concert starts at 2:30pm.
A host of pre-concert activities starts at 1:15pm, including:
*Digital Planetarium Shows (advance reservations required)
*Science demos and activities about space and music
*Instrument Petting Zoo
*Ukelele Demonstration
*Meet the Brass and Woodwind Family sessions
*Space alien crafts project
*Story time with the Hays Public Library bookmobile
*Drumming Circle
*Costume Parade
*Trick-or-Treat bags given to the first 350 children who attend.
