As a participant, we agree:

* to listen and offer constructive and helpful comments
* to limit our reading time to accommodate all readers,
* to encourage new poets, and
* to respect the work, time, and commitment of all in attendance.

Children 3-5 are invited to participate in fun horse-themed activities!

"Needles & Hooks" — Fiber Arts Club. Open to all who use a needle or hook to create! We invite embroiders, needle felters, quilters, crocheters, knitters, needlepoint artists, etc. Starting February 2026, this club will meet on the first Thursday of each month from 6–8PM at the Prairie Museum Library.

"Between the Sheets" — Genealogy Club. Open to all who want to learn about family research; genealogy. There will be a formal program each month based on the interests of participants. Starting February 2026, this club will meet on the first Saturday of each month from 2–4PM at the Prairie Museum Library.

Join us in an informal poetry circle to read, share, or just listen to some local poets.

Amarillo Public Library’s SocialRx program is a great opportunity for area residents looking to expand their horizons and their circle of friends.

The program is designed to introduce people to engaging opportunities available in our community. Each month, community organizations offer information about classes, volunteer opportunities, and clubs so interested individuals can explore the options.

At the September 11th, 2024 meeting:

--The Amarillo Chapter of the League of Women Voters will provide information on LWV membership, fellowship, and volunteer opportunities.
--ACTS Community will give us the scoop on the Senior Center and volunteer options.
--Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare will explain about ways to get involved in helping pets reunite with their people or find forever homes.

Each Social Rx meeting takes place on the second Wednesday of the month at 1 PM at the Downtown Library – located at 413 SE 4th. Come meet new people and learn new things! For more information, contact Program Specialist Cynthia Hunt at 806-378-6019.

Musicians, comedians, and poets are welcome to come perform in an intimate yet public setting every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month.

Tucker Livingston is a singer-songwriter and guitarist born in 1974 in Texas. ​He has been a featured artist at The Austin City Limits Music Festival, SXSW Music Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival among other things. This is a chance to see him in a listening room venue. The historic Harris Drugs in Pampa, Texas aka The Woody Guthrie Folk Music Center at 320 S Cuyler St, where Woody worked in the 30's and got his first guitar. $5 suggested donation.
