This is a ticketed panel discussion organized by the Amarillo Tribune to deepen our community's understanding of the support available for our unhoused neighbors and to identify unmet needs.Panelists will share their personal stories of experiencing homelessness, and panelists and representatives from organizations will answer questions from the audience and Amarillo Tribune journalists.This event will be held at the Amarillo Area Foundation on April 29 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. It is free to attend with a suggested donation of $10.Sponsorship opportunities are available! Naomi Shihab Nye is a prominent poet, writer, and educator. She's a Palestinian-American who has lived in both Jerusalem and San Antonio, Texas, according to The Poetry Foundation. Nye is known for her work with children and young adults, as well as her poetry for adults, including her collection "19 Varieties of Gazelle," which was a finalist for the National Book Award. She is also a recipient of numerous awards, including the Lon Tinkle Award for Lifetime Achievement from The Texas Institute of Letters. Nye currently lives in San Antonio, according to the Academy of American Poets.
Anyone interested in umpiring or score keeping games this season should plan on attending these clinics. Bring two forms of identification (driver’s license and social security card) as well as your banking information to the clinic. Blueprint is a complimentary program offered by the WT Enterprise Center in partnership with America’s SBDC at WTAMU. Blueprint utilizes a visual chart to provide the framework for an entrepreneur to understand how to create, evaluate, and refine their business model while focusing on their value proposition.
The program will be led by both WT Enterprise Center coaches and America’s SBDC at WTAMU consultants. This blend of coaches and consultants provides both the technical components in business creation while also focusing on the entrepreneur journey being embarked upon.

The WT Enterprise Center will offer a new program designed to provide human resource professionals with skills and tactics designed to protect companies and their employees.
This HR Pro training program, developed by Mirarchi Management Group for use in partnership with the WT Enterprise Center, will offer practical advice for handling employee relations situations with good judgment, sensitivity and high confidence.
HR Pro training will begin from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. March 19 at the WT Enterprise Center, 2300 N. Western Street. in Amarillo, and will continue monthly for 10 months. Deadline to apply is March 13.
Participants will earn 18 Human Resource Certification Institute recertification credit hours and 18 Society for Human Resource Management professional development credits on completion. The training program will include personalized interaction with an experienced HR professionals and peers in a confidential setting.
A unique aspect of the program is “Reset The Clock,” through which HR professionals will receive judicially recognized training to draw a legal line to protect an organization and to enable an entrepreneur to move forward ethically, legally and confidently. By attending the HR Pro program, HR professionals will gain practical insight into navigating the complexities of employee relations, fostering a workplace culture rooted in fair and ethical practices. The program underscores the commitment of the WT Enterprise Center and Mirarchi Management Group to empower organizations with the knowledge necessary for effective and legally sound HR management.
The HR Pro training program is in-person only. The cost is $3,000 per individual and can be paid in person with a card or by mail with a check. Deadline to register is March 13. Workshop will share the basics of 6S with an emphasis on early stage implementation and planning to “keep it up”. Although focused on Manufacturing facilities, the principles and structured approach to getting and staying organized applies to many types of industries and layouts.
