We recently completed the changeover to a new, much improved audio management system, including a new program scheduling computer, file servers, workstations and more secure and reliable IT networking between our studios in Garden City and Amarillo. This work involved thousands of audio files and lines of programming code, so you may hear some glitches in our programming as we "burn-in" the system in the coming days. We apologize for any disruptions to your listening. If you have questions or problems to report, please contact HPPR's Technical Director, Alex Fregger (afregger@hppr.org).

KJJJP-FM 105.7 in Amarillo is currently operating at 10% power due to problems with its main transmitter. Engineers are currently working to resolve the problem. If you listen to 105.7 FM and are experiencing reception problems, you can always listen to its programming through the streaming player above.

Hoping for Place One: Hayden Pedigo Doc Debuts Tuesday at SXSW

It’s been almost two years since guitarist and Amarillo-native Hayden Pedigo launched his bizarre  announcement for his run for Place One on the Amarillo City Council, which urged local head scratching as well as national attention. After a long wait, tomorrow at 10:00 am CT, the feature documentary about his campaign debuts at the 2021 SXSW Film Festival. The film, entitled Kid Candidate, follows Hayden around Amarillo as he shines a spotlight on communities he feels are underrepresented in city government, while encouraging younger citizens previously unlikely to participate in local elections. If you’d like to check out this year’s virtual SXSW Festival and view the film, here’s the link for more info and to register. What’s next on the horizon for Hayden? Well, he seems to be having a fun time during lockdown, and we were thrilled to hear that there will be some new music coming later this year. Hear the full interview on the link below.
