Oklahoma ranchers received the most federal drought relief in the country according to the Oklahoman.
Here are the totals from 2011-Dec. 1, 2014:
- Oklahoma $883 million
- Texas $592.36 million
- Nebraska $512.89 million
- Kansas $461.26 million
- Missouri $303.58 million
It has been relatively dry across Oklahoma this winter reports the U.S. Drought Monitor. Severe drought conditions persist in southwestern and northwestern Oklahoma, including parts of the Panhandle. The most concerning change is the redevelopment of marginal drought conditions across much of the state.
94.97 percent of the state is now classified as abnormally dry or worse.
