KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at very reduced power and signal range using a back-up transmitter. This is because of complicated problems with its very old primary transmitter. Local engineers are currently working on that transmitter and consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. In the mean time you can always stream either the HPPR mix service or HPPR connect service using the player above or the HPPR app.

Kansas Attorney General Says Guns Are Allowed in Some Polling Places

biatrainingsolutions.com

Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt recently advised state election officials that guns will have to be allowed in some polling places, but can be banned in others reported Dion Lefler for the Wichita Eagle.

Schmidt informed Secretary of State Kris Kobach that concealed carry has to be allowed at polling places in municipal buildings, but public schools, churches, and privately owned buildings used as polling sites can ban guns if they prohibit firearms the rest of the year.

This opinion from the Attorney General is in response to the Personal and Family and Protection Act signed into law last year.

The attorney general’s opinion is not binding, but can be relied on for guidance on legal issues until and unless the matter is decided by a court.
