Voters went to the polls in Oklahoma on Tuesday night, to decide on a medical marijuana law and to decide who the candidates will be in this November’s elections.
As CBS News reports,Sooner voters said yes to State Question 788, making it legal to grow, sell and use marijuana for medicinal purposes.
In the race for governor, former four-term state Attorney General Drew Edmondson won the Democratic nomination handily. The Republican side will go to a runoff between former Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett and Tulsa businessman Kevin Stitt. Stitt has a hefty war chest, which he used to vanquish Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb, the establishment pick to win the nomination.
Meanwhile, over a hundred former teachers have thrown their hats into the political ring this year, in response to what they view as unfair treatment by the legislature. Dozens of those teachers advanced in their primaries on Tuesday.
