Summer is fast approaching, and that means it’s time to think about how to take care of our skin. Skin cancer is more common in the US than breast, colon, lung and prostate cancers combined. But some cities are more harmful than others. In some areas, the rate of skin cancer is lower, the air cleaner, the sun kinder, and treatment more accessible. The personal finance website Wallethub wondered what the best and worst cities for your skin are. Surprisingly, given its abundant sunlight, Texas fared well in the study. El Paso was rated the number one city in the country for skin health. San Antonio, Austin, Plano and Dallas were also in the top ten.
Denver landed at 45th,, Omaha was 51st, Wichita was 54th, and Oklahoma City came in 91st. Colorado Springs fared most poorly among High Plains cities, falling at number 139 on the list.
The study only compared the top 150 most populous cities.
