Our translator station serving St. Francis and Cheyenne County at 96.3 FM is off the air due to an air conditioning breakdown at its leased transmitter site, making it too hot for HPPR's equipment to operate. We are currently working to fix the situation. We apologize for the loss of service and ask listeners to tune to KZNK at 90.1 FM or listen on line through the player above or HPPR's mobile app.

Which High Plains States Are Best For Singles?

Wallethub

If you’re single and you live on the High Plains, the state you live in may be having a big effect on your dating life.

The personal finance website Wallethub recently performed a study of the “Best and Worst States for Singles,” and the results for High Plains states were a mixed bag.

Texas landed near the top of the list, as America’s third best state for singles. Colorado also fared well, landing at number 14. None of the other states in the HPPR listening area made the top half, however. Nebraska and Oklahoma landed at numbers 35 and 36, respectively, while Kansas was near the bottom at number 45.

To reach their results, Wallethub judged states across 29 key metrics, from share of single adults to movie costs to nightlife options per capita.

Florida was found to be the best state for singles, and West Virginia was at the bottom of the list.
