Colorado State Parks Passes Now Available at Libraries

Colorado Parks and Wildlife

If you’re in Colorado and looking to get back to nature this summer, head to your local library. Nearly 300 libraries across the state are now offering state parks passes for checkout, reports Colorodoan.com. It’s all happening through a new program launched on Monday called “Check Out State Parks.”

Through the initiative, Colorado hopes to get more people to visit the state’s 42 state parks. At a participating library each visitor can check out two Colorado State Parks passes. The pass gives users free entry to all of Colorado's state parks. Visitors can also check out a backpack, which includes wildlife guides, state park guides and a pair of binoculars. The pass and backpack can be checked out for a week.

The program is a partnership between Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the Colorado Department of Education and local library systems.
