Where do High Plains states rank when it comes to safety?

Wallethub

In an increasingly complex world, people want to make sure their communities are safe. To that end, the personal-financial website WalletHub has compiled a list ranking states in order of safety—and the High Plains put in a rather poor showing.

Not a single state in the HPPR listening region appeared in the top half of states when it comes to safety. Colorado performed the best among HPPR states, falling at number 29 on the list.

Nebraska and Kansas were next, landing at numbers 34 and 37, respectively.

Texas, at number 41, was one of the ten least safe states, and Oklahoma landed near the very bottom at number 48.

Vermont was found the be the safest state in the union, and Mississippi is the most dangerous.

One final note: Of the ten safest states, all but one voted Democratic in last year’s presidential election. The ten states at the bottom of the list all went for Donald Trump in 2016.
