Saturday in Amarillo: The Hope & Healing Place's "Wings of Hope: Butterfly Release & Remember"

Laurie Howard of The Hope and Healing Place fluttered by the Amarillo studio to share a wingful of information about a lovely event they’re hosting this Saturday, Sept. 7th from 10am to 12p CT. Don’t miss Wings of Hope: A Butterfly Release & Remember Event. “A butterfly release is a tangible way to remember your loved one. It's the acknowledgement of a life lived and the celebration of the love you shared,” Howard said. So come out to Memorial Park Gazebo (2600-2698 S. Jackson Street, Amarillo) at Amarillo College’s Washington Street Campus for a beautiful butterfly release and remember. According to Howard, “The butterfly carries many similarities to the grief journey. It is a continuous journey, sometimes dark and sometimes celebratory.”

THIS IS A FAMILY FRIENDLY EVENT AND IS FREE TO THE PUBLIC, HOWEVER YOU CAN RESERVE YOUR OWN BUTTERFLY for a fee, in memory of a loved one. Please list for whom you are purchasing your butterfly when making your purchase, so we can acknowledge the memorial. Please bring a lawn blanket or chair and all your family and friends. There will be a chalk walk, butterfly crafts and the release of the butterflies. “This is a time to reflect, remember and celebrate the loved ones we have lost,” Howard reminds attendees.

The Hope and Healing Place (HHP) changes lives by walking children and their families through the devastation of the loss of a loved one. Grief can cripple individuals if not dealt with in a healthy manner. HHP is an invaluable resource for bereaved families. Howard noted, “We do not charge for our services, so fundraisers like this event, as well as other community outreach, are vital to the center.
