KJJP-FM 105.7 is currently operating at 15% of power, limiting its signal strength and range in the Amarillo-Canyon area. This due to complicated problems with its very old transmitter. Local engineers are continuing to work on the transmitter and are consulting with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problems. We apologize for this disruption and service as we work as quickly as possible to restore KJPFM to full power. This week on Amarillo Symphony Presents, hear the Symphony No. 7 of Ludwig van Beethoven and listen to a chat with Amarillo Symphony musical director Jacomo Rafael Bairos as he draws the connection between Beethoven and Elon Musk, the man behind Tesla Motors and SpaceX.

The performance of Beethoven's 7th is from the symphony's "Innovators" concert in September of 2013, the opening to the symphony's previous concert season.

Also hear a selection from the Symphony No. 5 of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, a performance from November of 2012. Tune in to hear Amarillo Symphony Presents, Sunday at noon and Thursday at 7pm CT on High Plains Public Radio.
