It is hoped that this work will completed on Thursday with KZNA back to its full 100,000 watts of power with a state of the art transmitter to serve the area for many years to come.
If you can't receive KZNA at its reduced power, you can listen via the digital stream directly above or on the HPPR mobile app. For questions please contact station staff at (800) 678-7444 or by emailing hppr@hppr.org

Wichita State University is partnering with Kansas State University to start a satellite nursing program at K-State.

The partnership addresses the rising need for registered nurses in Kansas.

WSU School of Nursing Chair Voncella McCleary-Jones says they will be adding prepared nurses to the work force.

“We felt that by joining our resources, we could provide an opportunity for those students to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing," Jones said, "which is highly-regarded as far as entry-level education for the nursing profession."

Through the partnership, students will enroll in K-State’s College of Health and Human Sciences for the first three years and, if accepted into WSU’s nursing program, will be WSU students on the K-State campus for the following two years.

Admission will happen twice a year during the fall and spring semesters. The K-State nursing program will have the same requirements at Wichita State. Twenty students will be admitted per semester, and graduates will earn degrees from both K-State and WSU.

The schools signed a memorandum of understanding last month, and still need to seek approval from the Kansas State Board of Nursing.
